The Society has a number of informal competitions during the year and they are listed on the following pages but if you are interested in joining us don't think you have to enter these, many active members never enter competitions.

We have changed the format  and we have introduced a number of Critique Evenings where the judge will not have to place the entries in a winning order but can simply say whether he thinks a photograph has worked (or not) and why.  She or he can choose a personal favourite(s) for the evening if the moods takes him or her.

This has encouraged people to show their work in public

Special Note - We have discovered an incompatibility between the Projected Image Software and Paint Shop Pro.  Paint Shop Pro outputs its Jpeg images with a file type of '.JPG' (capital letters) whereas the Projected Image Software will only accept '.jpg' (lower case) as used by Photoshop and other programs.  If you use Paint Shop Pro please speak to a member of the Committee about this.
