We meet in Chesterfield Library Lecture Theatre every Thursday (see meetings page) which is located in Beetwell Street in the Town Centre.  The meetings start at 7.30 but we ask members and visitors to be there by 7.15 so guest speakers are not kept waiting.

Directions:

From the M1 - leave at Junction 29 and follow the dual carriageway to the end under the railway bridge.  At the first roundabout take the second exit for the town centre, this is a short dual carriageway ending in another roundabout.  At this second roundabout take the second exit towards the town centre, stay in the left hand lane.  Kwikfit is on your left, take the first left, after a few yards you come to a give way near the Vicar Lane Car Park on your left.  Go straight on at the give way, in about 200 yards you will go past the library on your right, it is a red brick building. Drive past it and under a footbridge with a multi-storey car park on your left. Take the next left into the car park see photo below.

From Sheffield:

Travel down the Dronfield Bypass and continue onto the Chesterfield bypass, after the Tesco roundabout you will see the Chesterfield Hotel on your left.  Take the next exit which ends at a set of traffic lights, turn left and go under the bypass you have just left.  You will come to a roundabout, take the third exit and you will see Kwikfit, follow the instructions as per the M1.

From Derby:  

Travelling into Chesterfield on the A61 from Clay Cross you will pass the new cinema complex on your right and you will meet a roundabout in approximately 300 yards.  This is the first roundabout mentioned in the M1 instructions so follow from there.

The car park is controlled by barriers, if you arrive before 7.00 take a ticket as normal BUT DRIVE THROUGH THE CAR PARK AND BACK OUT TO THE EXTERNAL PARKING AREA AS THE MAIN BLOCK IS LOCKED AT 7.00.  PARK AND GO BACK TO THE TICKET ISSUING MACHINE UP THE STEPS AT THE LEFT HAND END OF THE BUILDING.  RE-ENTER YOUR TICKET, THIS WILL VALIDATE IT FOR LATER EXIT. If you arrive after 7.00 you should see the exit barriers are raised as you enter the car park, go through these and park in the external parking area.
