It is the Society's 70th Year in 2008 and there is an exhibition in Chesterfield Museum from 4th October 2008 to 30th December all about popular photography in the last 70 years and including a brief history of the Society. It's called 'Say Cheese'.
At the Annual NEMPF Exhibition a number of our members did well. Sheila Curzon got all six of her slides accepted, Steve Williams, Brian Davis, Geoff Hicks and Shirley Davis also had work accepted and exhibited
Congratulations to Vaughan Williams who was awarded a Selector's Favourite for his Misty Morning
If you have any interest in photography, whatever it may be why not join us at one of our meetings, you will be very welcome on any of our Thursday evening meetings. We have lots of new members who have started or restarted an interest in Photography because of Digital and we can help you in this.
You do not have to be an expert. We hope the photographs you see here inspire you but do not worry about not being an expert. If you want any advice on any aspect of Photography we are here to help and if you are an expert then your experience will be very welcome!
Our aim is to make photography an enjoyable and creative hobby for anyone.
Sometimes visitors to the site may think we just concentrate on competitions, actually we are not a competitive society and we show the pictures here just because we think they are good. Don't be put off by the reference to competitions. We aim to provide an entertaining general Society programme on Thursday nights and we will also try to help any visitors with any queries they have.
We have number of critique evenings where no marks are awarded but a judge comments on submitted work.
