These are some photos from our Pie & Pea Supper in April 2008. The photographer blames the models for any less than flattering pictures!!!! We had a really good time and thanks go to Jim Dunn for the quiz. His reward for this is having his head chopped off by the photographer (see picture top left).

CPS - 2007 Annual Exhibition
Doing justice to the photographs in the Annual Exhibition is not really possible but the following gives you a taste of what was on display.
We also sent prints to our sister society in Troyes and if you follow the link you will see some pictures of the exhibition.
We've had some excellent photographic excursions in the last 12 months, if you go to Upcoming Events you will see results from some of these
and a list of the planned events for 2008.

Chesterfield is twinned with several towns including Darmstadt in Germany. Darmstadt Fotoclub asked Chesterfield Photographic Society to mount a large exhibition in the 'White Tower'.
We worked on this for several months and 77 pictures from 25 members were exhibited in Darmstadt.
Thanks go to the team who have organised and created the exhibition particularly the 'mastermind', our Exhibition Secretary Jerry Daniel.
Eight members of Chesterfield visited Darmstadt for the opening and members of Darmstadt showed us the Mathildenhohe where artists were given land by the Grand Duke Ernst-Ludwig and created wonderful Art Nouveau buildings, paintings, furniture and glass. Fotoclub members showed us other areas such as the Herrngarten and Park Rosenhohe.
No doubt there will be lots of Darmstadt and Frankfurt pictures appearing over the coming months but here are some snaps of the exhibition and the Mathildenhohe. We also hope to create a page for the Darmstadt Fotoclub in the near future

The Society has given about 30 large prints to the Chesterfield Royal Hospital and these hang on the walls at various places around the hospital.
We are very grateful to Harrison Cameras for producing the high quality prints for us

Our Annual Exchange with Toyota City Photographic Society, Japan where both Societies send a show of members work has taken place.
Chesterfield will be showing this early in the New Season 2006/7.
Toyota have shown Chesterfield's and want to continue to continue these exchanges for years to come.
Hitoshi Yokokume also printed a number of our photographs and these were seen by more than 800 people.

This isn't really news but this meeting was a 'milestone' in the development of the Society.
In the Spring of 2002 we hosted an evening with Derbyshire County Council for photographers from Toyota City. We had a great evening and have kept in touch via email and the Web with one of the visitors, Mr Hitoshi Yokokume. Hitoshi has produced an impressive book of his holiday here and it is available to society members
We have also held five exchanges, originally on slide and now using digital AV tools.

One of Hitoshi's pictures of the exhibition the photographers had of their trip to the UK. |
It is with regret that we note the passing of two long-standing members, Cyril Price and Roy Thompson.
They had been members for many years and had contributed much to the Society.
Roy Was instrumental in running our popular 'Then & Now' Photographs at the Annual Exhibitiion, 2006's 'Then & Now' was a memorial to Roy.
