Trips Out

March 13th or 14th 2010 National Mining Museum The visit will be either Saturday 13th or Sunday 14th depending on 'Mother's Day' Commitments.  We'll try to organise a trip down the mine but electronic devices are not allowed!

Travel will be by car - car sharing to be organised.

May 8th or 9th 2010 Beaurepaire Gardens, Bridge Foot Belper Peter Robertson-Davies, who gave us an excellent lecture on his life as a professional photographer has invited the Society to his garden.  Peter opens the garden in aid of charity and there will be plants and garden things for sale.The River Derwent is nearby providing an area full of photographic opportunity.

Lowry Gallery & Imperial War Museum North By Car - the main purpose will be to see the exhibitions: A Long Exposure - 100 years of Guardian Photography and Clouds Descending by Jem Southam  -

and the Imperial War Museum  North has a number of excellent exhibitions running at the moment. 

If there is time we can do some photography as well.                             

 

5th July 2009 Stoke - Gladstone Pottery & Etruria By Car - This will take in some industrial archaeology - see flickr here, fill in the form at the meeting or talk to Ken if you are interested
5th & 6th September 2009 Shuttleworth Air Pageant Display By Car - we are staying overnight at a Travelodge - arranged by David - remember to book your own tickets

An Evening taking pictures in Hopton Quarry

A member of Derbyshire Wildlife Trust took us to this long disused quarry on the 3rd July.  The weather was great but the long shadows made us work hard to capture some of the plants and other features of this place.

October 6th Cromford - The light was dull but 12 members turned up and we should see some results soon.  The intrepid photographers are portrayed below!
   
20th October Sheffield at Night -  Yet More Excellent Work was produced - some appears on members flickr pages
   
November 4th The weather was GREAT!  Jonathan keeps taking the kudos for this, Bah! There are photos below
   
Dec 1st

The trip to Donna Nook took place on Dec 1st and members have posted some good work on their own flickr pages.
